How the Setup Works

What happens before a bot goes live?

Start with written rules, inspect a test configuration and agree on the responsibilities at handover.

Written trading rules and configurable pause conditions

The first conversation defines the scope

Tell us which instruments, broker and rule set you have in mind, without sending account credentials. We check whether the rules can be expressed clearly and whether the proposed connection is supported. You then receive a written scope covering the configuration, available tests, limits, handover and price. Timing depends on the completeness of your rules, access to suitable historical data and the broker's interface. We do not begin configuration before you approve the scope.

Three stages from rules to handover

Define

You provide entry and exit conditions, intended instruments and the limits you want considered. We identify missing definitions and external dependencies before building anything. This stage may take longer when a strategy relies on discretionary judgement or data that is not available in a usable format.

Test

We configure the agreed rules and run tests using specified historical data. Together we review settings, logs and cases where the data cannot answer a live-execution question. A test is an inspection tool; you decide what, if anything, should proceed to a broker connection.

Connect

Where supported, we check the broker connection and demonstrate the monitoring view, pause conditions and operating notes. We record the final settings at handover. You remain responsible for authorising use, checking account activity and responding when conditions or broker behaviour change.

Questions to settle before configuration

Myth

Any strategy can be automated

Fact

Rules that rely on an unrecorded judgement call may need to be rewritten or kept manual. We assess whether the instructions are specific enough before scoping the build.

Myth

Every broker works the same way

Fact

Interfaces differ in their supported instruments, order types and responses. Integration scope is confirmed for the proposed connection rather than assumed from another broker's setup.

Myth

Handover ends the review

Fact

A change in rules, broker behaviour or market conditions can make earlier settings unsuitable. The client must continue monitoring activity and request a review when the setup changes.

Checking a broker connection test log before handover

Start with the rules you already have

Send a brief outline and we will explain what can be assessed before a formal scope is prepared.
