A software service for defined strategies
Friendempress is a Stellenbosch-based trading software business serving South African traders who already have, or are developing, a rule-based approach. We help turn those rules into an automation configuration, examine them against historical data, connect supported broker interfaces and make activity visible in a dashboard. The practical question behind the work is straightforward: before an order can be submitted, what must the software check, and how will the trader know if the connection or a rule behaves unexpectedly? We begin with a written description of the strategy rather than a claim about what it might earn. That description gives both sides a basis for discussing the data, order types, limits and monitoring required. Clients receive records of the agreed settings and the tests performed, so the setup can be reviewed after handover.
How we work, and where we stop
Since 2022, our work has centred on separating a strategy's trading logic from its operational controls. In a typical engagement, we check the supplied rules, identify assumptions that need clarification, configure a test version and review its logs before discussing a live connection. We document which controls sit in our software and which behaviours depend on the broker or market. A restrained slate-and-indigo workspace keeps order status and exceptions readable during that review. We do not select investments, promise trading results, manage client funds or make account decisions for clients. Historical tests cannot reproduce every live condition, and even a carefully configured limit may be affected by spreads, outages or broker responses. Clients decide whether and when to use a strategy and remain responsible for supervising their accounts.
